Syll 552.81 (Magnesia, late ii/B.C.) ἐὰν δὲ μὴ ποιήσωνται τὴν ἀνάγνωσιν [αὐ ]τοῦ καθότι προστέτακται : several instances might be quoted from iii/A.D. in the normal sense of ";reading."; In P Tebt I. 61 (b).4 (B.C. 118–7) we have survival of an earlier meaning : ἐπὶ τῆς ἀναγνώ [σ ]ε ̣[ως ] τῆς κα [τ ]ὰ [φύ ]λ ̣λ ̣[ον γε ]ωμετρίας, ";at the revision of the survey of the crops"; (Edd.).
