NAS – the commanders of the Ammonites said to their lord Hanun, "Do you think that David is {simply} honoring your father since he has sent you {servants} to console you? Has David not sent his servants to you in order to explore the city, to spy it out and overthrow it?"

ALE – ויאמרו שרי בני עמון אל חנון אדניהם המכבד דוד את אביך בעיניך כי־שלח לך מנחמים הלוא בעבור חקר את העיר ולרגלה ולהפכה שלח דוד את עבדיו אליך

BHS – וַיֹּאמְרוּ֩ שָׂרֵ֙י בְנֵֽי־עַמֹּ֜ון אֶל־חָנ֣וּן אֲדֹֽנֵיהֶ֗ם הַֽמְכַבֵּ֙ד דָּוִ֤ד אֶת־אָבִ֙יךָ֙ בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ כִּֽי־שָׁלַ֥ח לְךָ֖ מְנַֽחֲמִ֑ים ֠הֲלֹוא בַּעֲב֞וּר חֲקֹ֤ור אֶת־הָעִיר֙ וּלְרַגְּלָ֣הּ וּלְהָפְכָ֔הּ שָׁלַ֥ח דָּוִ֛ד אֶת־עֲבָדָ֖יו אֵלֶֽיךָ׃

MAS – ויאמרו שׂרי בני עמון אל חנון אדניהם המכבד דוד את אביך בעיניך כי שׁלח לך מנחמים הלוא בעבור חקור את העיר ולרגלה ולהפכה שׁלח דוד את עבדיו אליך

WLC – וַיֹּאמְרוּ֩ שָׂרֵ֙י בְנֵֽי־עַמֹּ֜ון אֶל־חָנ֣וּן אֲדֹֽנֵיהֶ֗ם הַֽמְכַבֵּ֙ד דָּוִ֤ד אֶת־אָבִ֙יךָ֙ בְּעֵינֶ֔יךָ כִּֽי־שָׁלַ֥ח לְךָ֖ מְנַֽחֲמִ֑ים ֠הֲלֹוא בַּעֲב֞וּר חֲקֹ֤ור אֶת־הָעִיר֙ וּלְרַגְּלָ֣הּ וּלְהָפְכָ֔הּ שָׁלַ֥ח דָּוִ֛ד אֶת־עֲבָדָ֖יו אֵלֶֽיךָ׃

RAH – καὶ εἶπον οἱ ἄρχοντες υἱῶν Αμμων πρὸς Αννων τὸν κύριον αὐτῶν μὴ παρὰ τὸ δοξάζειν Δαυιδ τὸν πατέρα σου ἐνώπιόν σου, ὅτι ἀπέστειλέν σοι παρακαλοῦντας ἀλλ᾿ οὐχὶ ὅπως ἐρευνήσωσιν τὴν πόλιν καὶ κατασκοπήσωσιν αὐτὴν καὶ τοῦ κατασκέψασθαι αὐτὴν ἀπέστειλεν Δαυιδ τοὺς παῖδας αὐτοῦ πρὸς σέ
