Introduction

1:11 away (a-14) In those days conquerors transported conquered nations to distant seats, and replaced them by others, that national feeling might not subsist, but dependence be complete. 'Carrying away' is feeble for this, but I know no other word.

Verse 2

22:2 who (h-11) 'Who has that character.' as ch. 2.6 and ch. 7.24.

Verse 5

22:5 it, (i-6) See Note r, Hebrews 2:3 .

Verse 7

22:7 wroth, (k-10) 'And the king was wroth,' is probably the true reading.

Verse 16

22:16 person; (a-39) Or 'appearance.'

Verse 24

22:24 brother. (b-25) See Genesis 38:8 and Deuteronomy 25:5 .

Verse 31

22:31 saying, (c-19) Exodus 3:6 .

Verse 37

22:37 him, (d-5) Deuteronomy 6:5 .

Verse 39

22:39 it, (e-6) Leviticus 19:18 .

22:43 saying, (a-14) Psalms 110:1 .
