Verse 1

Ecclesiastes 3:1

Eccl. 3:1-8

1.

There is a season for everything,

And a [right] time for eveything under heaven.

2.

A time to be born, and a time to die,

[A time for birth, and a time for death.]

A time to plant, and a time pulling up what has been planted.

[A time for planting, and a time for harvest.]

3.

A time to kill, and a time to heal.

A time to break down, and a time to build up.

[A time for tearing down, and a time for building.]

4.

A time to weep, and a time to laugh.

A time to mourn, and a time to dance.

5.

A time to throw stones away, and a time to gather stones together.

A time to embrace, and a time not to embrace.

[A time to hug, and a time for parting.]

6.

A time to a search for things, and a time to give up searching.

[A time to look for things, and a time to give up as lost.]

A time to keep, and a time to throw away.

7.

A time to tear apart, and a time to mend together.

A time to keep quiet, and a time to speak up.

[A time to listen, and a time to speak.]

8.

A time to love, and a time to hate.

A time for war, and a time for peace.
