NO DEFEAT WITHOUT CONSENT
Matthew 28:1-10
Jesus was triumphant in all his experiences, as well as over them: in the commonplace, tiresome carpenter-shop round; the wilderness temptation, so tense and subtle; the ceaseless nagging persecutions; under the deeply shadowed olive trees; before shifty, powerful Pilate; and on the dread cross, as well as when his triumph is so apparent in the Resurrection and Ascension. And so may we be. By Jesus’ grace no one can be defeated without his own consent.
