The humanity of Christ, as the four evangelists unfold it before our eyes, is an inexhaustible subject for wonder and worship. He is the Messiah of Israel (Matthew), the obedient Servant (Mark), the Son of Man (Luke), the One who comes from heaven (John). Each thread: of blue, purple, scarlet or of fine twined linen, each facet of His humanity, perfect in itself, is closely woven, each with the others, in a way which makes up the marvellous whole which is the life of our Lord Jesus Christ.
