Fausset's Bible Dictionary
A town of Gad, E. of Jordan (Joshua 13:27). Same as Bethharan (Numbers 32:36); ages later named Libias or Livias, from the emperor Augustus' wife, Livia. In the wady Seir, which falls rate the Ghor, opposite Jericho.
