Euergetes
Fausset's Bible Dictionary
("benefactor," a title of honor often voted by Greek states to public men). Ptolemy III and Ptolemy VII were called so. Our Lord alludes to the title, Luke 22:25, "they that exercise authority upon them are called benefactors."
