("a pit".) The scene of encounter between David's heroes and the Philistines (2 Samuel 21:18-19). "Gezer" in 1 Chronicles 20:4. In Septuagint and Syriac "Gath"; compare 2 Samuel 21:20; 1 Chronicles 20:6.
