(uh bi' ram) Personal name meaning, “my father is exalted.” 1. Leader of rebellion against Moses and Aaron seeking priestly authority. He died when God caused earth to open and swallow the rebels (Numbers 16:1; Numbers 26:9-11 ). 2 . Son of Hiel sacrificed in foundation of rebuilt Jericho, fulfilling Joshua's warning (1 Kings 16:34 ).
