Achor
Holman Bible Dictionary
(aw' chawr) Place name meaning “trouble, affliction,” or “taboo.” The valley in which Achan and his household were stoned to death (Joshua 7:24-26 ). Later, it formed part of the border of Judah. It is the subject of prophetic promises in Isaiah 65:10 and Hosea 2:15 . See Joshua .
