Holman Bible Dictionary
(an uh ni' uh) Personal name meaning, “Yahweh heard me.” 1. Grandfather of Azariah, who helped Nehemiah repair Jerusalem (Nehemiah 3:23 ). 2 . Village where tribe of Benjamin dwelt in time of Nehemiah (Nehemiah 11:32 ). It may be located at Bethany, east of Jerusalem.
