Atharim
Holman Bible Dictionary
(ath' uh rihm) Hebrew word of uncertain meaning. It names a roadway the king of Arad took to attack Israel under Moses. After an initial setback, Israel prayed and found victory under God (Numbers 1:1-3 ). KJV translates “spies” following the Septuagint, the earliest Greek translation. Modern translations simply transliterate the Hebrew. The site may be Tamar a few miles south of the Dead Sea.
