Holman Bible Dictionary
(ay' vihm) AVIMS, AVITES, AVVIM, AVVITE 1. A people of whom nothing is known outside biblical sources. They lived on the Philistine coast before the Philistines invaded about 1200 (Deuteronomy 2:23 ). 2 . A city in the tribal territory of Benjamin (Joshua 18:23 ) about which nothing is known.
