Holman Bible Dictionary
KJV translation for the planks of a ship's deck (Ezekiel 27:6 ). Modern translations give the wood of the deck variously: boxwood (NAS); pine (NRSV, TEV), or cypress (NIV, REB). These translations understand the deck to be inlaid with ivory rather than made of ivory as the KJV suggests.
