(behr' uh cah) Personal name meaning, “blessing.” 1. Skilled soldier able to use right or left hand with slingshot and with bow and arrows. He joined David's band in Ziklag, when David fled from Saul and joined the Philistines (1 Chronicles 12:3 ). 2 . Valley where King Jehoshaphat of Judah (873-848 B.C.) and his people blessed God after He provided miraculous victory over Ammon, Moab, and Edom (2 Chronicles 20:26 ). A valley near Tekoa and a modern village retain the name: wadi Berekut and khirbet Berekut.
