Holman Bible Dictionary
(behth-gay' muhl) Place name meaning, “house of retaliation.” City in Moab on which Jeremiah announced judgment (Jeremiah 48:23 ). Its location was modern khirbet el-Jemeil about seven miles east of Dibon.
