Beth-Rehob
Holman Bible Dictionary
(behth-ree' hahb) Place name meaning, “house of the market.” Town near where tribe of Dan rebuilt Laish and renamed it Dan (Judges 18:28 ). Rehob was the father of Hadadezer, the Syrian king of Zobah (2 Samuel 8:3 ). Beth-rehob may have been their hometown. When the Ammonites made David angry by humiliating his officials, Ammon sent to Beth-rehob for Syrian soldiers, evidently indicating that Syria controlled the city. The town lay at the southern foot of Mount Hermon. See Rehob .
