Dill
Holman Bible Dictionary
Spice cultivated in Israel (Isaiah 28:25-27 ). KJV translates, “fitches”; NIV, “caraway.” It was probably black cummin, Nigella satina . Jesus accused the scribes and Pharisees of tithing their dill but neglecting justice, mercy, and faith (Matthew 23:23 ). See Plants.
