Holman Bible Dictionary
(doh' doh) Personal name meaning, “his beloved.” 1. Grandfather of Tola, the judge (Judges 10:1 ). 2 . Father of Eleazar, one of David's three mighty men (2 Samuel 23:9 ). In 1 Chronicles 27:4 he is called Dodai. 3. Citizen of Bethlehem and father of Elhanan, one of David's warriors ( 2 Samuel 23:24 ).
