Elimelech
Holman Bible Dictionary
(ih lihm' uh lehch) Personal name meaning, “my God is king.” The husband of Naomi, who led his family from Bethlehem to Moab to escape famine and then died in Moab. This prepared the scene for the Book of Ruth (Ruth 1:2-3; compare Ruth 4:3 ).
