Holman Bible Dictionary
(ehl' kahssh) Place name of unknown meaning. The home of Nahum the prophet (Nahum 1:1 ). Although several traditions exist that identify various places as the site of Elkosh, its location remains unknown. That it was in Judea is fairly likely.
