Holman Bible Dictionary
(ee' mihm) National name meaning, “frightening ones.” They lost a war to the eastern coalition of kings (Genesis 14:6 ) and are identified with a place in northern Moab, Shaveh Kiriathaim. They were ancient giants or Rephaim (Deuteronomy 2:10-11 ). See Rephaim .
