Holman Bible Dictionary

(ehth' uh nihm) Canaanite name of the seventh month taken over by Israel (1 Kings 8:2 ), who also called the month Tishri. This was the first month of the civil year. Ethanim means, “always flowing with water” and refers to the flooding streams fed by heavy fall rains.
