Holman Bible Dictionary
(gay' zehz) Personal name meaning, “sheepshearing.” Name both of Caleb's son and grandson (1 Chronicles 2:46 ). As other names in the list represent cities in southern Judah occupied by the clan of Caleb, Gazez may also be a city, though nothing else is known about it.
