KJV term for a trap or snare. With the exception of Amos 3:5 , all scriptural uses are figurative, either of the fate of the wicked (Job 18:9; Isaiah 8:14 ) or of the schemes of the wicked (Psalm 140:5; Psalm 141:9 ). See Fowler .
