Hadad-Rimmon

Holman Bible Dictionary

(had ad-rih' muhn) Names of two Syrian gods combined into one word. Zechariah 12:11 describes the tragedy of the day of the Lord, including weeping and mourning in the Valley of Megiddo for Jerusalem. Such mourning could be compared only to the “mourning of Hadad-rimmon,” apparently a reference to pagan worship ceremonies, perhaps for a dying and rising god. The exact interpretation of the passage is difficult, Hadad-rimmon being mentioned nowhere else.
