Holman Bible Dictionary
(huh dass ssuh) Personal name meaning, “myrtle.” In Esther 2:7 , another name for Esther. It was either her original Hebrew name or a title that was given to her. In the former case, it would mean “myrtle”; in the latter case, “bride.” See Esther .
