Holman Bible Dictionary
(ha' ruhz) Personal name meaning, “gold” or “industrious.” Maternal grandfather of Amon, king of Judah (642-640 B.C.). He was from Jotbah (2 Kings 21:19 ). The home may not be in Judah and thus represent foreign influence on the king. See Jotbah .
