Holman Bible Dictionary
(hee' ssehd) Personal name meaning “grace” or “covenant love.” Father of one of Solomon's district governors (1 Kings 4:10 KJV). Modern translations transliterate ben (Hebrew “son of”). He brought provisions for the royal court one month a year from his district of Arubboth. See Arubboth .
