Holman Bible Dictionary
(hehth) Personal name of unknown meaning. Son of Canaan, great grandson of Noah, and original ancestor of the Hittites, some of the original inhabitants of Palestine (Genesis 10:15 ). See Hittites. Abraham bought his family burial ground from “sons of” or descendants of Heth (Genesis 23:1 ).
