Hukkok
Holman Bible Dictionary
(hyoo' kahk) Place name meaning, “hewn out.” 1. Town on border of tribal allotment of Naphtali between Mount Tabor and the border of Zebulun. It has traditionally been located at Yaquq northwest of the sea of Chinnereth, but that may be too far east. Recent proposals look at khirbet el-Jemeija, two miles west of Sakhmin (Joshua 19:34 ). 2 . The same Hebrew word names a Levitical city in the tribe of Asher (1 Chronicles 6:75 ), but the parallel passage (Joshua 21:31 ) reads Helkath. See Helkath .
