Holman Bible Dictionary
(ihg duh li' uh) Personal name meaning, “Yahweh is great.” Ancestor of the prophets whose chamber in the Temple Jeremiah used to test the Rechabites loyalty to their oath not to drink wine (Jeremiah 35:4 ). This is apparently evidence for professional prophets on the Temple staff. See Jeremiah; Rechabites .
