Holman Bible Dictionary
(i' ryoo) Personal name meaning, “donkey's colt” or “they protect.” Son of Caleb (1 Chronicles 4:15 ). Many Bible students think the original text read Ir, a copyist joining the final u to the name when it should have been the first letter of the following word, meaning, “and.”
