Holman Bible Dictionary
(jahk' tan) Personal name meaning, “watchful” or “he is small.” Son of Eber in line from Shem in the Table of Nations (Genesis 10:25-26 ). He was original ancestor of several tribes in the Arabian desert, particularly in Jemin. See Mesha; Sephar .
