Holman Bible Dictionary
(jak' theh ehl) Place name meaning, “God nourishes” or “destroys.” 1. Town in Shephelah or valley of tribal allotment of Judah (Joshua 15:38 ). 2 . King Amaziah captured Selah from Edom and renamed it Joktheel (2 Kings 14:7 ). It may be modern es-Sela northwest of Bozrah. See Selah .
