Holman Bible Dictionary

(koh' rih) Personal name meaning “one who proclaims.” 1. Son of Ebiasaph, a Levite of the family of Korah and father of Shallum and Meshelemiah, gatekeepers at the tabernacle (1 Chronicles 9:19; 1 Chronicles 26:1 ). 2 . Son of Imnah, the Levite, keeper of the eastern gate, and appointed by Hezekiah to receive the freewill offerings and distribute them among the priests (2 Chronicles 31:14 ). 3 . A mistaken transliteration in 1 Chronicles 26:19 (KJV). The name should be Korah (see modern versions).
