(may' uh ssawee) Possibly a shortened form of Maaseiah meaning, “work of Yah). One of the priests returning from Exile (1 Chronicles 9:12 ), Maasai is likely identical with Amashai (Nehemiah 11:13 ). KJV transliterated Maasiai.
