Magnificat
Holman Bible Dictionary
(mawg nih' fi cat) Latin word meaning “magnify.” The first word in Latin of Mary's psalm of praise (Luke 1:46-55 ) and thus the title of the psalm. Very similar to the psalm of Hannah (1 Samuel 2:1-10 ). See Benedictus; Nunc Dimittis .
