Mahlah

Holman Bible Dictionary

(mal' luh) Personal name, perhaps meaning, “weak one.” 1. Daughter of Zelophehad who with her sisters petitioned Moses to receive their father's inheritance in the Promised land since he had no sons (Numbers 26:33; Numbers 27:1-11 ). God granted their request (Numbers 27:6-7 ). The tribe of Manasseh later petitioned that daughters who inherit be required to marry within their father's tribe (Numbers 36:1-12 ). The daughers' persistance in pressing their claim is evidenced by Joshua 17:3 . 2 . A descendant of Manasseh (1 Chronicles 7:18 ).
