Mahol
Holman Bible Dictionary
(may' hahl) Personal name meaning, “place of Dancing.” The name belongs to the father of three renowned wise men (1 Kings 4:31 ). An alternate interpretation takes the phrase “sons of the place of dancing” as a title for those who danced as part of the Temple ritual (compare Psalm 149:3; Psalm 150:4 ). The wisdom of the Temple dancers may be akin to the prophetic wisdom associated with musicians (1 Samuel 10:5; 2 Kings 3:15; and especially 1 Chronicles 25:3 ).
