Nebuzaradan
Holman Bible Dictionary
(nehb' yoo zahr ay' dan) Personal name meaning, “Nebo has given offspring.” An officer in the Babylonian army during King Nebuchadnezzar's reign. His title is given as “captain of the guard,” a designation which is uncertain. He led his troops in a siege of Jerusalem in 587 B.C. (2 Kings 25:8-9 ), burned the city's buildings, tore down its walls, and carried away the people into Exile. Four years later he returned and deported still more citizens (Jeremiah 52:30 ).
