Nest

Holman Bible Dictionary

Hollow container fashioned by a bird to contain its eggs and young. Nest is often used as a simile or metaphor for a human dwelling (Numbers 24:21; Job 29:18; Habakkuk 2:9; Proverbs 27:8 ). The term translated “nest” (Matthew 8:20; Luke 9:58 ) suggests a leafy “tent” rather than a nest.
