Oholah

Holman Bible Dictionary

(oh hoh' luh) Personal name meaning, “tent dweller.” A woman's name Ezekiel used to portray Samaria (Ezekiel 23:1-10 ). Oholah and her sister, Oholibah (Jerusalem), are shown as whores who consorted with various men (other nations). The obvious meaning is their spiritual adultery against God. God declared through the prophet that Samaria eventually would be delivered into the hands of her “lover,” Assyria (Ezekiel 23:9 ).
