Organ
Holman Bible Dictionary
KJV term for a musical instrument which modern translations identify as a pipe or shrill flute (Genesis 4:21; Job 21:12; Job 30:31; Psalm 150:4 ). At the time of the KJV translation organ designated any wind instrument. The modern pipe organ was not known in the biblical period, though primitive organs were used in the Jerusalem Temple after 100 B.C. and provided music for Roman games and combats. The organ came into the church use after A.D. 600.
