(pal' ti) Personal name meaning, “my deliverance.” 1. Benjamin's representative among the twelve spies sent to survey Canaan (Numbers 13:9 ). 2 . Second husband of Michal, King Saul's daughter who had previously been given in marriage to David (1 Samuel 25:44; KJV, Phalti). Michal was later returned to David in consequence of Abner's defection from Ishbosheth (2 Samuel 3:15-16 ). The fuller form Paltiel , meaning, “God delivers,” is used in 2Samuel (KJV, Phaltiel).
