Holman Bible Dictionary
(pay' yoo) Edomite city meaning, “they cry out.” Hadar's (Hadad) capital (Genesis 36:39 ). The parallel in 1 Chronicles 1:50 gives the name as Pai. It may be Wadi Fai west of the southern end of the Dead Sea.
