(pyoo' uh) 1. Personal name meaning, “girl.” Hebrew midwife who disobeyed Pharoah's orders to kill male Hebrew infants (Exodus 1:15 ). 2 . Personal name meaning, “red dye.” Father of the judge Tola (Judges 10:1 ) and an alternate form of Puvah (1 Chronicles 7:1 ).
