Purslane

Holman Bible Dictionary

(puhrss' layne) Fleshy-leaved, trailing plant used as a pot herb or in salads, which the RSV of Job 6:6 used as an illustration of tasteless food. Other translations follow the Targum in reading “white of an egg” (KJV, NAS, NIV) or find reference to another plant, the mallow (NRSV, REB).
