Pile of material to be burned, especially that used in burning a body as part of funeral rites (Isaiah 30:33 NAS, NRSV; pile, KJV; firepit, NIV, REB). God's preparation of a funeral pyre for the Assyrian king highlights the certainty of God's judgment.
